The Root Canal Procedure

If a root canal is necessary to save an infected tooth, the process is fairly simple. The pulp (the soft area in the center of the tooth) is removed. Then the inside of the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and then filled and sealed with a rubber compound. If the damage to the tooth is severe, a crown may be needed to safely and fully repair the tooth.
